This webinar will discuss the identification, biology, and management of cogongrass in the southeastern U.S.
Cogongrass (Imperata cylindrica) is one of the most important noxious weeds in the world. This grass, originally from Asia, can quickly crowd out native vegetation, creating biological wastelands. Dead leaves stand upright, contributing to increased fire intensity, which can negatively impact forest systems. Dense root mats can withstand incredibly inhospitable conditions for weeks and still keep viability. This webinar will address cogongrass identification, biology, and management.
