Southern Regional Extension Forestry
Southern Regional Extension Forestry or SREF is located on the campus of the University of Georgia in Athens, GA. and is a regional support group for foresters and the forestry community. The position of the Southern Regional Extension Forester was created in 1979 to serve as a liaison between the USDA Forest Service and thirteen southern land-grant universities. Today, SREF's duties have evolved to include a regional programming, representation, promotion and communication role within the forestry and natural resource communities regionally and nationally.
