SUMMARY:Wildland-Urban Interface Land-Use Planning and Policy (Module 3)
DTSTART:20091013T180000Z
DTEND:20091013T190000Z
DESCRIPTION:October 13th\, 2009 2\:00 PM to 3\:30 PM (Eastern)\n\nAs n
atural resource professionals\, we tend to enjoy working outside in ru
ral areas and attempting to help landowners better manage their land f
or wildlife or habitat health. We didn't get into this profession to l
ive in cities and work in meeting rooms. However\, our constituents ha
ve changed and the methods we use to influence land management have ch
anged as well. We can no longer ignore the urban / urbanizing areas. A
dditionally\, we are being asked to do more with less\, so efficiency
is critical. By working with planners and policy makers\, we can impac
t the landscape on a grand scale.
